INTERSECT's Internship Program is a structured, two-way relationship. The aim of the Internship is to provide interns with a meaningful, quality and hands-on experience that will further their career prospects and give them valuable experience in the arts industry.
The Internship Program is between 8 and 12 weeks and runs twice per year from March-June, and from July-October. It offers participants the chance to develop new and transferrable skills, meet and engage with exhibitors, artists, curators and international guests. The program is tailored to the particular skills and interests of the Interns, and includes the opportunity to assist in the areas of curation, gallery administration, media and marketing, front of house, art handling and installation and public programs.
Each semester, RMIT:ART:INTERSECT takes on 2 project intern and 1-2 curatorial interns. These positions are usually prioritised for current students from the RMIT Bachelor of Art (Fine Art), Master of Arts (Arts Management) and Vocational Education Visual Art students. If you are not a current student you are welcome to submit an expression of interest to RMIT:ART:INTERSECT should these positions become open to external applications.
