PROJECT SPACE SPARE ROOM / 5 April to 2 May 2013
Skypetrait: Transcontinental Faces investigates the nature of a portrait in today’s urbanised and digitalised society through pairing artists from Germany and Australia to draw each other within the public space of Skype. The screen interface mirrors opposites drawn together to form the whole or Die Gestalt. Portraiture becomes less of an interpretation of the individual as a mapping of contemporary collective consciousness.
A feature exhibition of the DRAWING OUT 2013 SYMPOSIUM.
