Public Share is a group of six New Zealand artists who have a common interest in working cooperatively to engage in ideas of sharing and production. They are Monique Redmond, Harriet Stockman, Kelsey Stankovich, Deborah Rundle, Mark Schroder and Joe Prisk. Combining object making and site exploration with social engagement and critique, Public Share has a particular interest in workplace rituals and organising events that punctuate the day with pause and conviviality. The collective actively engages with infrastructure sites undergoing change and the workplace conditions that govern workers’ everyday activities, such as the recent elimination by the New Zealand government of the hard won entitlement to two 10-minute tea breaks in the working day. Recent projects include ALLOTTED BREAK(S) for the 2014 Engaging Publics symposium at Auckland Art Gallery, Carried Forward for the 2015 ST PAUL St Curatorial Symposium,SMOKO for Performing Mobilities Assembly 2015 in Melbourne, A Right Stirrer for the 2015 Whau Arts Festival, Avondale and Conditions Subsequent for Urban Aspiration at The Physics Room in Christchurch, 2016.
