Born in Hong Kong in 1963, Carol Lee started her studies in Chinese painting in 1983. She graduated from RMIT University in 2001 (co-presented with Hong Kong Art School) with a BA (Fine Art) and was elected a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society (RMIT Chapter) in the same year. In 2007, Lee received her Master of Fine Art with RMIT University (co-presented with Hong Kong Art School) and received Outstanding MFA Achievement Award. She was one of founding members of the MIA (Mere Independent Artist). Her painting and installation works were selected for the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition and awarded in the Philippe Charriol Foundation Art Competition and the Corning Museum of Glass Review in New York for three years. She was the Vice-Convener of the Art Container Project in 2008. Recently, Lee has participated in many overseas and local exhibitions, such as OCAT art space for solo exhibition in China in 2015 and Setouchi Triennale in 2016. Her works are held in overseas and local museums, art foundations and private collections.
